Individual Therapy  ·  Abilene, TX  ·  Ages 6–99

You Have Been Carrying This
Long Enough Alone.

Individual therapy for the weight of trauma, the exhaustion of anxiety, and the patterns that haven't shifted no matter how hard you've tried.

Stacy Reynolds, LMFT-Associate, LCDC-Intern Supervised by Lisa Powell, Ph.D., LMFT-S

What Individual Therapy Is Here

This Is Not a Place to Be Fixed.
It Is a Space to Finally Be Heard.

Individual therapy at Brain & Heart Healing is built on one belief: the behaviors and struggles you bring into this room are not character flaws. They are survival strategies that worked once — and may have stopped working since.

You will not be given a formula. What you will get is a clinician who asks first, listens carefully, and then finds the tools that actually fit your story. With over 25 clinical modalities available, the approach is built around what fits you — not what is easiest to explain in a brochure.

This practice accepts new clients ages 6–99. For children under age 6, please contact us first for a consultation call.

Who This Is For

You Might Be Ready If...

  • You are navigating trauma — childhood, relational, or acute — and it is showing up in your daily life in ways you can no longer manage alone
  • Anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation is making it harder to function the way you want to
  • You are managing co-occurring substance use concerns alongside mental health struggles
  • You are involved in a legal situation and need clinical support that understands that world
  • You have tried other approaches and something still hasn't shifted
  • You are high-functioning on the outside and exhausted by it
  • You are a child, teen, or adult who needs a clinician who will meet you where you are

The Approach

Over 25 Modalities. One Framework. Your Unique Story.

No two people arrive with the same history, the same nervous system, or the same definition of healing. That is why this practice does not apply a single method to every client.

The Brain

Addresses the behavioral and neurobiological patterns keeping you stuck: the thought loops, the triggers, the responses your nervous system learned and hasn't yet updated. These tools build skills and create structure.

The Heart

Addresses the relational and attachment wounds underneath: the places where safety was broken, where trust was lost, where you learned it wasn't safe to need people. These tools repair what cognitive work alone cannot reach.

Mental health and substance use concerns frequently travel together. This practice holds both — without shame, without hierarchy.

Individuals navigating the legal system who need a clinician that understands both the clinical picture and the compliance requirements.

Common Questions

The first session is an intake and assessment. I will ask about your history, what brought you in, and what you are hoping to change or understand. It is also your opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for whether this is the right fit. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to share in the first hour.
Brain & Heart Healing is currently a private-pay practice. I do not bill insurance directly. A superbill can be provided upon request, which some clients use to seek out-of-network reimbursement. Please check with your plan before your first session.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, particularly in the early stages of treatment. As you build momentum and stability, we may shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions depending on your goals and progress.
Yes. Brain & Heart Healing accepts clients ages 6–99. For children under age 6, please contact us first for a consultation call to determine the best approach.
That is more common than you might think. Sometimes the fit was wrong. Sometimes the method didn't match the presenting issue. Sometimes you weren't yet ready for what the work required. We can talk through what happened before and what would need to be different this time.
