Getting Started
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
No referral is needed. You can book directly through our online portal at any time. If you have been referred by an attorney, probation officer, CPS caseworker, or another professional, simply let us know at intake so we can coordinate documentation appropriately.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is a clinical assessment — a dedicated conversation where your therapist gets to know your history, your goals, and what has brought you in. It is not therapy yet; it is the foundation for therapy. You will have space to ask questions, share as much or as little as you are comfortable with, and get a sense of whether this is the right fit.
The initial assessment is 50 minutes and is priced separately from ongoing sessions.
How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Session frequency depends on your goals, your schedule, and your clinician's clinical recommendation — most clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust from there. Your therapist will discuss a recommended cadence with you during or after the initial assessment.
What age groups do you see?
We accept clients ages 6 and older. Clients under age 6 require a brief consultation call with Stacy before scheduling — please call or text (325) 261-3663 to arrange this.
Alexzandria 'Ali' Adams, LPC-Associate specializes in clients ages 8 and older, including children, adolescents, and adults.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Both therapists at Brain & Heart Healing are trauma-informed and skilled at working with a wide range of concerns. Here is a quick guide:
- Stacy Reynolds, LMFT-Associate, LCDC-Intern — sees clients Monday through Thursday. Specializes in trauma, couples and family therapy, court-ordered services (FVE and anger management), and chemical dependency.
- Alexzandria 'Ali' Adams, LPC-Associate — sees clients Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, EMDR, foster care and adoption, and children and adolescents ages 8 and older.
If you are unsure, call or text us at (325) 261-3663 and we will help point you in the right direction.
Insurance & Fees
Do you accept insurance?
Stacy Reynolds is contracted with the following insurers and accepts most plans from each:
- BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS)
- Aetna
- Curative
Stacy is also contracted with 2INgage, the Region 2 Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Clients referred through DFPS or CPS via 2INgage should confirm coverage at intake.
We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to verify that Brain & Heart Healing, PLLC is in-network under your specific plan before scheduling. Insurance contracts and accepted plans are subject to change — please confirm current participation at the time of scheduling.
Alexzandria 'Ali' Adams is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. All of Ali's services are private pay. Upon request, Ali will provide a superbill — a detailed receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance carrier needs to process an out-of-network reimbursement claim.
What does a session cost?
Individual, Couples, or Family Therapy (50 min) — $100
Anger Management (per session) — $100
State-approved Family Violence Education (FVE) — Contact us for program fee
Fees are due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes. Financial barriers should never stand between you and healing. Sliding scale fees are available for clients facing financial hardship.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is processed securely through the SimplePractice Client Portal. By scheduling services with Brain & Heart Healing, PLLC, clients authorize the practice to charge the card on file at the time of service. You may update your payment information at any time through your client portal.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the federal No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care before services begin. This applies if you are uninsured or not using insurance for your sessions.
You can request a personalized Good Faith Estimate at any time by calling (325) 261-3663 or through your SimplePractice Client Portal. For full details, visit our Financial Policy & Good Faith Estimate page.
Court-Ordered Services
What court-ordered services do you offer?
Stacy Reynolds provides two court- and CPS-accepted programs:
- State-approved Family Violence Education (FVE) — accepted by Texas courts and CPS
- Anger Management — accepted by Texas courts and CPS
Both programs include documentation provided to courts, attorneys, probation officers, and CPS caseworkers as required by the ordering party.
How do I enroll in the Family Violence Education (FVE) program?
Call or text us at (325) 261-3663 or use our online referral form. Attorneys and probation officers can also submit referrals directly through that form. Please have a copy of your court order available at intake.
For clients involved in DFPS permanency cases, we require the 2INgage Form 2054 (or current DFPS equivalent) to be on file before services begin.
Will you communicate with my attorney or probation officer?
Yes. Brain & Heart Healing provides documentation to courts, probation officers, attorneys, and CPS caseworkers as required by the ordering party. All documentation is prepared accurately and delivered within the timeframes required by the court order.
Any release of records requires a signed Texas Standard Authorization Form (HB 300). This form requires separate initials to authorize the release of Mental Health Records and Drug, Alcohol, or Substance Abuse Records.
What is your attendance policy for court-ordered programs?
Attendance is required and tracked. We use a three-strike policy for court-ordered clients:
- Strike 1 — First unexcused absence is documented in the clinical record.
- Strike 2 — Second unexcused absence results in a verbal warning and written notice to the client.
- Strike 3 — Third unexcused absence triggers notification to the ordering party (probation officer, attorney, CPS caseworker, or court), and the client may be discharged from the program.
Clients are responsible for understanding their court order requirements.
Do you provide court testimony or expert evaluation?
Services provided in connection with legal proceedings — including court testimony, deposition preparation, record review for legal matters, and expert consultation — require a retainer of $2,500 prior to any engagement. Please contact us directly to discuss legal service arrangements.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share in sessions is protected by federal and Texas law, including HIPAA, the Texas Medical Privacy Act, and — for substance use disorder records — Federal 42 CFR Part 2, which provides heightened confidentiality protections stricter than HIPAA.
Your information will not be shared without your written authorization, except in the limited circumstances described below.
When are you required to break confidentiality?
Texas law requires therapists to break confidentiality in specific circumstances, including:
- Imminent risk of harm to yourself or another person
- Reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect
- A valid court order requiring disclosure
- Certain situations involving elder abuse or abuse of a person with a disability
Your therapist will explain the full limits of confidentiality at your first session and in your intake paperwork. For full details, see our Notice of Privacy Practices.
How do I request a copy of my records?
You have the right to access your clinical records. Record requests must be submitted using the Texas Standard Authorization Form (HB 300), which requires separate initials for Mental Health Records and Drug, Alcohol, or Substance Abuse Records.
Submit your completed, signed form through your SimplePractice Client Portal. Processing time is up to 15 business days as permitted by Texas law. A reasonable, cost-based fee may apply.

The Integration Circle
What is the Integration Circle?
The Integration Circle is an 8-week, small-group therapy experience limited to 8 participants, launching in September 2026 in Abilene, TX. It is designed for adults who are ready to go deeper than individual therapy allows — healing in real relationship, not just in a private room.
How is group therapy different from individual therapy?
Individual therapy gives you a confidential space to process your own story. Group therapy adds something individual therapy cannot — a room full of other people doing the same hard work at the same time. You hear yourself in someone else's experience. You practice being seen. You learn in relationship, which is often where healing gets stuck in the first place.
The Integration Circle is not a support group or a drop-in format. It is structured, clinically-led group therapy with a clear therapeutic arc over 8 weeks.
Who is the Integration Circle for?
The Integration Circle is for adults who have done some individual work — therapy, reading, journaling, self-reflection — and feel that something is still stuck. It is for the person who is ready to stop processing alone and start healing in relationship. It is not crisis intervention and is not appropriate for someone in acute mental health crisis.
A brief consultation is required before enrollment to make sure the group is the right fit for you.
