Anger Is Not the Problem.
It Is a Signal. And It Deserves a Better Response.

Anger management for court-ordered clients and those who chose this on their own — because the way it has been showing up is no longer working.

What Anger Management Is Here

This Is Not a Punishment.
It Is a Practical Path to a Different Outcome.

Anger management at Brain & Heart Healing is not about learning to suppress emotion. It is not a lecture series on breathing exercises. It is not a program designed to make you sit in a room and feel ashamed of something your nervous system learned long before you had any say in the matter.

Anger is a secondary emotion. Underneath it — almost always — is fear, humiliation, helplessness, or grief. Until that layer is addressed, managing the surface expression is a short-term fix at best. This program is structured, evidence-informed, and grounded in a trauma-informed understanding of why anger shows up the way it does. Completion documentation is provided promptly and accurately to all required parties.

Who This Is For

However You Got Here — You Belong Here.

Court-Ordered Clients

You are here because a court, a probation officer, or an employer required it. You may have mixed feelings about being here. That is okay. This program meets you where you are — not where the legal system thinks you should be — and moves you toward where you actually need to go.

Self-Referred Clients

You chose this because you have watched your anger damage something — a relationship, a job, a moment with your kids — and you are done watching it happen. You don't need a court order to know something needs to change.

No matter how you arrived, you will be treated with the same respect and the same clinical standard.

The Approach

The Brain Has to Understand It Before the Heart Can Change It.

The anger management program at Brain & Heart Healing draws on two primary frameworks — both chosen because they address the roots of reactivity, not just the surface behavior.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Teaches you to observe your emotional responses without being controlled by them — to create space between the trigger and the action, and to choose a response that aligns with your values rather than your reactivity.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Meets ambivalence honestly. If part of you isn't sure this process will work, MI holds that uncertainty without judgment and builds intrinsic motivation for change from the inside out — not from external pressure.

Completion documentation provided for courts, employers, and all required parties

For Courts, Attorneys & Probation Officers

Completion documentation is accurate, timely, and formatted to meet the requirements of Texas courts, probation departments, and employers. Brain & Heart Healing understands that legal professionals need a clinical partner who is reliable — not one who creates additional follow-up.

Documentation is provided promptly upon program completion to all parties as authorized by the client in writing.

Common Questions

Program length is determined during the initial assessment based on your specific court order or clinical goals. Court-ordered programs follow the requirements in your legal documentation. Self-referred programs are designed collaboratively based on what you are working toward.
Yes. With your written authorization, completion documentation is provided directly to courts, probation officers, employers, or any other required party. The documentation is accurate, timely, and formatted to meet Texas standards.
That is a very common starting point — and one this program is built to hold. Motivational Interviewing specifically works with ambivalence and resistance without judging it. You don't have to believe the court was right to get something meaningful out of this work.
No. Brain & Heart Healing offers anger management as a standalone evidence-informed program. It is not a Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP). If your court order specifically requires BIPP accreditation, please contact us and we can help connect you with the appropriate resource.
Absolutely. Many clients come to anger management on their own initiative — because of a relationship, a parenting concern, or a workplace situation. You do not need a court order to access this program.
