Your story matters.
And so do you.

Whether you're here by choice or by court order, this is a space where healing happens with dignity — and where the demands of the legal system and your need to recover can exist in the same room.

Everything Here Is Trauma-Informed. That's Not a Feature — It's the Foundation.

Every service at Brain & Heart Healing is built on a trauma-informed foundation and an integrated clinical framework that balances the Brain and the Heart. The behaviors and struggles you bring into this room are not character flaws — they are survival strategies. You will never be treated as a file number here. You will be treated as a person.

What We Offer

A Path Forward — On Your Terms or the Court's.

Whether you are coming to us by choice or by mandate, every service here is designed to meet you where you are and move you toward where you need to be.

Clinical Services For Individuals, Families & Couples

Individual Therapy

Life gets heavy. Sometimes the weight of trauma, loss, anxiety, or simply not knowing how to move forward is too much to carry alone. Individual therapy offers a private, confidential space to work through what is holding you back — at your pace, without judgment.

Specializing in trauma-informed care and relational trauma. Utilizing ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) — grounded in the framework that fits your story, not a formula.

Family Therapy

Families carry pain together — and they can heal together too. Whether you are navigating reunification, communication breakdowns, or the aftermath of a legal case, family therapy creates a structured, safe space for every voice in the room to be heard.

Grounded in Attachment Theory and Family Systems, with a trauma-informed approach that recognizes what looks like conflict is often unspoken pain.

Couples Therapy

Relationships are hard. When trust has been broken, communication has collapsed, or outside pressures have pushed you apart, couples therapy gives you a neutral space to rebuild — or to make the clearest decision possible about your future.

Utilizing Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — two of the most research-supported approaches for couples navigating conflict, loss of trust, and disconnection.

About

Where the Brain and the Heart Finally Work Together.

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. Neither is the person sitting across from me.

Whether you are arriving here by court order or by your own search for something better, I bring the same commitment to the room: to understand your story first, and then to find the tools that actually fit it. Not the other way around.

With over 25 clinical modalities in my toolbox, my work is guided by one core belief — that both the brain and the heart have to be in the room for real change to happen. The brain needs to understand what is happening and why. The heart needs to feel safe enough to let it.

The Brain

The neurobiological and behavioral side of healing.

Understanding patterns, building skills, and rewiring the responses that no longer serve you.

Utilizing ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI)

The Heart

The relational and attachment-based side of healing.

Repairing trust, rebuilding connection, and finding safety in relationship again.

Grounded in Attachment Theory and Family Systems

I do not believe that any single method holds all the answers. What I do believe is that you already hold more than you think — and my job is to help you access it.

Some clients need structure and skill-building. Some need to be heard before they can do anything else. Some are navigating a legal system that has already decided who they are — and they need a clinician who will look past the case file and see the person.

I have built this practice to serve all of them. And I have built my clinical toolbox to be ready for whichever one walks through the door.

Specializing in trauma-informed care, relational trauma, co-occurring substance use concerns, and court-involved clinical services for individuals, couples, and families across Abilene and the surrounding West Texas region.
